Para Football is a foundation and worldwide body that seeks to ensure that persons with disabilities have equal opportunities to participate in football.

This newsletter connects players, volunteers, national and international federations, partners and football fans who believe that para football is an important part of the game.

We finish the month calling everyone to action:

Blind Football Through the Eyes of Khalifa Youme: A Paralympic Champion and Ambassador for Inclusive Sport

Khalifa Youme is a player for the French national blind football team who has won 13 French championship titles and a Paralympic gold medal at Paris 2024.

He grew up in Senegal and has always loved practicing different sports. After arriving in France, Youme decided to play with the team of Unadev Bordeaux, one of the most competitive teams in France.

Thanks to his athletic qualities, his sprinter speed, his strength developed through wrestling and despite a difficult adaptation, he managed to adapt and become a key element of his team.

Powerchair Football World Cup 2026 in Argentina

After three years, the Federation Internationale de Powerchair Football Association (FIPFA announces the Powerchair Football World Cup 2026.

The event will bring together 10 teams from around the world, at the Olympic Park in Buenos Aires, this October 18-24.

FIFA Foundation supports World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF)

The WAFF and FIFA Foundation declared their formal partnership, on April 17 that brings support for the global development of the amputee football.

Over a three-year period, FIFA Foundation will support amputee football World Cups, continental and national tournaments organized by WAFF. Also, the foundation will support the delivery of projects in new countries to increase the number of amputee players, empowering women and young people.

IBSA launches Europe–Africa Mentorship Programme inspiring federerations

IBSA shows its commitment to building a stronger, more connected and sustainable global blind sport community through the programme.

This milestone is an initiative aimed at strengthening the capacity of African federations through long-term partnerships and practical mentorship. Currently, the programme is in its pilot phase, looking for potential for further expansion and institutionalisation.

Modified Football

Modified Football is a flexible version of the game where the rules, pitch, equipment, or format are adapted to make football more accessible.

There are many formats of football which support persons with and without disabilities to play together in an inclusive setting. Some examples are: Small-sided football and Walking Football.
